Holden Commodore VE AC Compressor Replacement

Holden Commodore VE AC Compressor Replacement, recently we replaced the Air Conditioning Compressor on a Holden Commodore VE.

This Holden Commodore VE was booked in for a mobile regas service with us. The owner had complained that the air conditioning wasn’t cooling enough. After the performance and leak testing of the aircon system, we discovered the compressor was leaking and not operating correctly. It can be a common fault on the Holden Commodore VE aircon compressors for the body seal to leak. Also, the control valve can fail to cause the compressor not to pump refrigeration gas to the evaporator.

Once we replaced the Holden Commodore VE AC Compressor and completed the air conditioning service which includes a deep vacuum to remove spent gases and moisture. A vacuum leak test follows this before regassing. We then regas the Holden Commodore VE air conditioner to the manufacture specifications.

Oil is top up as well as UltraViolet dye installed. Finally, the air conditioning system is comprehensively re-tested, checking the overall performance. Now the Holden Commodore VE has icy cold air conditioning once again.

    CAR AIR CONDITIONER COMPRESSOR

Car air conditioner compressor commonly referred to as the heart of the system. Also, most compressors are belt driven that fastened to the engine. It is responsible for compressing and transferring refrigerant gas.

Car air conditioning systems have two sides: high-pressure side and a low-pressure side. It is called discharge and suction. Since the compressor is a pump, therefore it must have an intake side and a discharge side. Most importantly, the intake or suction side draws in refrigerant gas from the outlet of the evaporator. In some cases, it does this via the accumulator.

The refrigerant gas R134a or 1234yf entering into the suction side is compressed. Then sent to the condenser, where it then transfer the heat it absorbed from the inside of the vehicle.
